Post Basic B.sc. Nursing and M.Sc.Nursing Registration at Kerala Nursing Council (KNC) for those who studied outside Kerala

update :

Hi.... a happy news for everyone who has completed their additional qualification out side Kerala..:)  KNC finally decided to recognize  out side degrees like Post Basic B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing, so candidates can apply for Kerala registration as per the latest information received from Kerala State Nursing Council on 25/11/2014.

Reciprocal Registration at Kerala Nursing Council  :

The students acquired additional qualification like P.B BSC. Nursing or MSC nursing outside keara can transfer their  registration to Kerala Nursing and Midwife Council ( KNMC ) . The registration done solely online.

Here is the official link  that lead to  KNMC website where you can do all the procedures online.

Guidelines for online Registration with KNMC

You can read guidelines on  how to register with  KNMC through online here

..........................................................................................

The Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council ( KNMC/ KNC) has stopped registration of Post Basic B.sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing  for those who acquired the qualification from outside Kerala after finding that most of these degrees are achieved through institutions running bogus courses. Many Nursing Colleges in Karnataka and Tamilnadu allows students to appear for the University Exam without attending the classes, which should be 2 yrs full time according to the INC ( Indian Nursing Council ) norm. In view of this, KNMC has taken permission from INC not to issue registration for those who studied these courses outside kerala.

As per the latest information received from KNC on 3rd week of October 2014, PB.B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc.Nursing  Registration for those who studied outside the state  is still on hold but they may lift the ban soon.

  5. Hi, Nandu, At present you will definitely get a job in Kerala without a reciprocal registration, but is always better to get registered with KNC because you may need to get some documents from the council like an international verification. So try to get it done for future reference.

  7. Hi Neethu, NOC is asked by KNC for all registrations, so you can apply for it in TNC. For registration you should produce original BSc certificates along with photocopy.

  9. Hi Aparna, you don't need an NOC to register with Karnataka Nursing Council, but for Kerala you need to get an NOC from Karnataka, that you will get only after your MSc Nursing registration with KSNC ( Karnataka).
