How to do Kerala State Nursing Council (KNC) Registration

Kerala Nursing Council has introduced an online application system for nursing registration. This facility is available for candidates from Kerala and other states.

Registration can be done through online for your GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery), B.Sc Nursing, Post B.Sc Nursing, M. Sc Nursing, and for any additional qualification you have successfully completed.

Kerala nursing council has got two web addresses, one is a general page and the other one mostly for online registration purpose.

 2. https://www.knmc.org/  ( For Registration Purpose you have to go to this website )

To start online application you don't need to  log in, instead go to the area given on the left side of the page named as "Public access". There you can find links under the headings like primary registration, reciprocal registration, and renewal of KNMC registration. Primary is for those who studied in Kerala and Reciprocal is for those who studied out side Kerala. Now click on the specific link and you  will be taken to  another page.

Select New Registration

In this page you can select the new registration, fill up the application with respective data and submit the application. On submission you will receive an application number in your e mail, which you have given. In case of any error while submission please check you e mail for application number, if no mail you have to do it again from the first step.

View Application

Go to the same page and you can view you application by entering the application number and date of birth in the required field. Now you should check your application for any mistakes or missing field because you will not be able to correct it after payment.

Payment

Payment can be done through on line ( credit & debit cards, internet banking) and Challan. If you are taking a challan then take a print out of Challan from the application page and pay the moneyon the next day in a SBT branch. ( same day it wont work)

Take a print out of your Application

On successful payment you can take print outs of your application, which should be sent to the Nursing Council along with the original Challan or payment slip to the address given.

The Registrar,
Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council,
Red Cross Road, Near General Hospital,
Thiruvananthapuram- 695 035

Check your e mail

Check your e mail periodically because KNMC will communicate through e mails for any corrections and errors that happened in your application, which you can rectify.

Please visit this link: https://knmc.org/GeneralInstructions.pdf  to find instructions in Malayalam on how to go about registering your  degree, diploma and additional qualifications )

Good Luck.

  1. Hi Neethu , It is advisable to submit the application by post and your original registration in person. If you are unable to go there, make a call to KNC and be sure that they will accept it through a post. An NOC from Karnataka is also required.

    1. Hi Santhu, As per current trend GNM candidate is given a post of assistant nurse in many middle east countries, but some of the private hospitals in UAE are still giving the post of registered nurse to GNM candidates. If you have a DHA, HAAD or MOH license it is possible to get a job without much expense through NORKA or ODEPC. Else get a pometric for other middle east countries like Oman, Qatar, Saudi etc. Good luck

    1. Hi Sherin, You cant hold more than one registration at a time, because when you register with a state nursing council you should submit the other one in that council. For all kinds of reference and documents, you should hold a valid registration with that council. So if you need any verification from KNC, you should have a valid KNC License. Anyway you can verify this with the authorized person.

    1. Hi Mini, you don't have to submit your original in Kerala, that is applicable for those who did their G.N.M in kerala and PB.Bsc in Karnataka. In that case they will get back the G.N.M registration that you will get from Karnataka. Fill an online application, take a print out and send to KNC with required documents and Challan or DD. They will send your registration to your address.

Madhyapradesh or KNC? and what about noc? They are mentioned ,after getting noc ,KNC will be sent to an email to the candidate.so shall i do something for that? can you please suggest me the goodway.

    1. Hi Archana, As per current rule, we are not allowed to hold more than one state nursing council registration, so you should submit your Madyapradsesh registration in KNC. Regarding NOC you dont have to do anything, that KNC will get directly from Madyapradesh, once it is done you will get an e mail in your inbox, so don't worry.

    1. Hi Archana, you can apply for a good standing certificate in Madyapradesh if you have a recent experience there, else it is better to get from Kerala once you get your registration. A good standing certificate should be produced from the state nursing council where you have recent experience.

So can I do Kerala registration instead of parental registration. Is parantal registration necessary? Help me. I am in a doubtful situation.

    1. Hi Mijimol, As per current rule Nursing councils are renewing the registration only for the nurses those who are working in that state. Another option is that you can renew it if you submit the current working certificate and a copy of valid visa from saudi. You can do Kerala registration, but parental registration is always important if you are planning to get employed in other countries.
